Making Our Own Castles
For our class time today, we made our own castles using cut up squares, rectangles, and triangles to paste onto our paper. They each were able to make their own unique castle, using their imaginations. They enjoyed describing where the towers were, and where the prince or princesses lived.

Play is an important part of development in children because it contributes to their cognitive, physical, social, and emotional well-being. Today during class time the Centipedes were able to chose which activity they wanted to participate in.
Be My Valentine - An Opportunity To Learn
The preschoolers were excited to hand out their valentine cards and treats to their friends for Valentine's Day.
This was the perfect activity for the preschoolers to work on their letter and name recognition skills. We began by looking for the first letter of their valentine recipients name. If there were two names that began with the same letter, we moved on to the second letter and so on.
Each child successfully placed all our Valentine's in our friends mailboxes and practiced recognizing letters at work in our world.
Heart Crowns
Today for class time, the Centipedes were busy making crowns using cookie cutters, paint and glitter. For our heart shapes we used a recycled roll of toilet paper and shaped it into a heart. They all enjoyed the idea that a roll of toile paper could make the shape of a heart, after dipping it in paint.
This week and next week we will be working on creating mailboxes, out of recycled cereal boxes, for everyone to pass out their Valentines.
Valentine's Day Cards
Valentine's Day is such a wonderful holiday to celebrate with toddlers and preschoolers. At Tiny Tribe we are getting ready for the special day by creating Valentine's Day cards and setting up decorations. Today we started to decorate colored heart shape cards using an assortment of fun art materials.
