The toddlers were excited to head out on their own little adventure today. After snack and circle time, we loaded up in the buggy and headed over to the local toy store to explore their puppets, doll house, train set, shopping carts, and bouncy ride-ons. The Beetles practiced all of the skills we have been practicing on our walks. We are working with them on learning to be respectful in public places, like waiting for turns, using our words and signs to ask for things, using quiet voices and calm bodies, and picking up after ourselves. Everyone had a lovely time.
Upon our return, the toddlers stopped for a rest on the benches before we headed back inside to explore moon sand in the sensory table.
Moon sand is different than regular sand because it's much finer so it molds into shapes and feels soft to the touch. The Beetles scooped, molded, and dumped it contently while they waited for their lunch to be ready.
