Hop-A-Thon Postponed- May 2nd & 3rd

We started working with the MDA Hop-A-Thon Curriculum before Spring Break.  Our plan was to be ready to hop today but after break and getting back into the swing of things again, I think we need one more week to plan and fund raise. We would love your support in continuing the conversations we have started at school and help 'train' with your child to practice their hopping skills.  Their goal is  to see how many hops they can do in 2 minutes at our Hop-A-Thons on Wednesday, May 2nd and May 3rd at 10:30 am the nearby pocket park.

In your take home packets there are learning points that can help carry the conversation beyond the classroom and into your home.
1. Everybody is different, nobody is perfect... but all of us are special!
2. Our bodies are amazing and can do lots of things.  Every person has different ablilities.
3. People also have many kinds of needs.  Some kids have a condition  in their muscles caused by a disease that keeps their muscles from getting strong called muscular dystrophy.  This condition may require the children to have special equipment or assistance.
4. Doctors and scientists are working to help kids and adults with muscular dystrophy.  We can help, too, by being in the MDA Hop-a-Thon!
