They discover line, color, shape and texture by seeing and feeling.
They use their senses to gain information about the environment.
They express individual thoughts and feelings through creating pictures and exploring materials.
They are empowered to make their own decisions and choices without judgement.
They develop independence and organizational skills.
When children are allowed to explore the process of painting....
....they remain curious instead of learning to be cautious, they become confident instead of questioning the "rightness" or "wrongness" of their choices, and they learn to express their thoughts, ideas, and feelings using symbolic representation.
