When I asked the group this morning, "Who wants to go to the Kenney Home today?"
A chorus of "I do! I do!" responded back.
Sometimes while we are there, the kids get wound up, energetic, and loud
and I find myself trying to calm them down a bit. One of the nurses
stopped me recently and reminded me that the voices and laughter of children
keeps the residents young and engaged.
We are often told by the residents and staff there that we are greatly anticipated for days preceding our visits and discussed lovingly for days after we leave.
Our preschoolers and toddlers feel the same way.
