Classroom Camp Out!

Today we set a tent up in the classroom and had circle time inside it. Life at school can get monotonous for both the teachers and the children. By changing the environment we awaken their sense of wonder and our own. When things are the same everyday, it's easy to get my head wrapped up in to-do-lists and planning. I find myself repeating the mantra in my own head often, "Get out of your head and into this moment." What could be a better way to get into the moment with the kids, while sharing space, wonder, stories, laughter, and marshmallows?

We read stories about bears, fishing, camping, and raccoons trying to steal camp food. Jennifer pretended to be a bear on the outside of our tent and scared us. We played flashlight tag and had a really good time together.
