Beetles: Water Painting

Painting with water can be so much fun!  Using water is a great way to get younger children the fine motor practice of holding a paintbrush, without the mess.










For the Beetles today, they enjoyed using their paintbrushes to draw pictures and paint strokes onto our chalkboard.  They were able to watch the "paint" dry and see how water feels on a brush compared to the paint that we normally use.

Zoe spilled her water bowl, and some of it got on her feet.  After she had spilled her water, she was happy to help us clean the classroom by using a washcloth.  The skills that the Beetles used today, will eventually help them learn how to write and hold a pencil.  Not only do they get to work on their fine motor skills, the kids get a chance to flex their creative muscle as well.
