This morning, the Beetles worked on coloring with muffin shaped crayons.
At first, they didn't know what to do with them because they are used to
using regular crayons. After Victoria showed them how to use them, they
began to purposefully color on their papers. Chloe used the edge of the
crayon and made two straight lines. Zoe liked using the flat edge and
noticed that it made a different impression on the paper then Chloe's.
After a little coloring Katy discovered that when the crayon touched the
table it made a loud noise. This noise made Katy laugh.
These homemade crayons are very simple to make. You simply take out your old crayons, spray the muffin tin with vegetable spray and place them in the oven at 275 degrees. After seven or eight minutes take them out and let them cool. Viola! A great homemade art activity for you to do together.
After a busy morning at school, we joined our Centipede friends at pocket park to enjoy the beautiful sunny day. They all enjoyed running around the circle and chasing each other over and over again.
