Helping with tasks in the classroom builds confidence for preschoolers. They are eager to try, learn, experience, and eventually master new skills. They want to do things that they see grown-ups, parents, and teachers do around them, like cut with a knife.
They strengthen their hand-eye-coordination and fine motor skills while they learn to contribute to the group in meaningful ways. This morning, all of the preschoolers were excited to help cut up fruit for to help make a giant fruit salad for Victoria. It will go along perfectly with Bodhi's yummy birthday cupcakes for afternoon snack.
It feels good to help make something special for someone else. Birthdays are a great time for us to give a little extra love to our friends and families. Helping others, helps everyone feel a sense of belonging and significance in our little world.
