Working Independantly

The Beetles each chose a puzzle or a set of manipulatives to work on independently at the table. As they get older, they are gradually developing a longer attention span and an ability to stay focused and play with intention on a challenge that they are interested in.

Anna Lee chose the farm puzzle. She concentrated on trying to put the pieces back in the puzzle and especially liked the ducks and ducklings. "Quack, quack."

Lena was very excited to play with the birthday cakes. She easily put all of the tiny pegs in her cakes. We counted the candles together and looked at the numbers printed on the front of each cake. After putting the candles in the cakes, she started singing, " Happy Birthday to Lena!"

Eva explored her fine motor skills this morning and adjusted quickly when she figured out how to put the candles in the holes.

Kaya likes the music puzzle and often chooses it whenever she has a chance. She enjoys hearing the sound the puzzle makes when the correct puzzle piece is put in.
