Color Walk

This morning the Beetles went on a Color Walk. Before we left, we talked about finding colors in nature, stores, objects, and clothing. Layla was our Beetle helper today, and she suggested we find the color PINK on our walk. Layla noticed that we were all wearing some type of pink clothing, but it wasn't the same shade of pink. We set out to find different shades of our chosen color.

We came across a sign in the window. We labeled it as "dark pink". We also noticed the OPEN sign was pink, but a "shiny pink".


Eva found some flower petals on the ground.
Look, red flower...no, pink! It's a pink flower!

We looked up and found a "light pink" rose and we all got to take a smell. When asked why they liked the color pink their response was..
Layla- I like pink because it's so pretty and bright.
Eva- Pink good, smell good!

Eva pointed to the flowers and said "Red, pink flower."


Layla finds a leaf with many different shades of pink. We noticed how it faded into the lighter pink colors.

Layla shows the difference between the two flower petals.
See guys? Light pink and dark pink. This is the light pink, and this is the dark pink."

Towards the end of our walk, we decided to switch colors every block. One block was white, the other was green, etc. We sure found a lot of green colors!
