This week we will be learning more about water. This morning during circle time the Centipedes looked at the globe and photographs of the earth in books. Most of the preschoolers already knew that all of the blue area on our earth is water.
The Centipedes also knew lots of other interesting things about water too, like....
Myla- We need water. Everyone uses water to stay alive. Trucks need water too. Rain is water. Salt water tastes like cinnamon.
Raya- Because we are going to die if we don't drink water. Water is blue.
Eva- Flowers need water and people need water. It goes down your throat and into your belly.
Zoe- Go swimming in water. Fish in water.
Chloe- Take a bath and wash my hands. Play toys in my water.
Kaya- Read water book. Go swimming today. No nap at Jena's house. My mommy coming. Go swimming lessons. It's water there.
Anna Lee- I drink cold water. It's cold. It's ice.
Lena- Water tastes like nothing. It goes in your belly. Water comes out of the hose. I have water at my house.
We read some books together during circle time and learned some more things about water that we didn't already know, like...
Where does rain come from?
Why does the sea taste salty?
How do you make ice?
Which animals live in water?
We will continue our discussions and discoveries about water as the week progresses.
While talking about water animals today, our conversation turned to belly buttons.
Did you know that whales and dolphins have belly buttons?
All mammals have belly buttons, just like us!
