Our Neighborhood

This morning we continued our discussion on maps. During circle time we looked at Tiny Tribe's neighborhood map. We talked about what street our school is on, and all our favorite stores around us. We are in the process of creating a book about the businesses around our neighborhood that we have visited during our morning walks. We talked about how we could skip, walk, bike, drive and dance to our favorite stores.

Lena held up the cover of the book titled "Tiny Tribe" and told her friends what she loved most about her school. "I like playing with my friends!"

We talked about which stores were far away and took longer to walk to, and which stores were closer and took a short time to walk to. Ava told her friends what she loved about Petco "I like the kitty cats!"

Everyone held up the page they chose. Aliza chose Great Harvest and Saige chose Curious Kids Toy Store. We decided these stores were close enough to our school that we could bike or walk!

During our class time, the Centipedes decided to decorate the pages before adding more memories to our book.

Myla helped decorate the Cupcake Royale page, and Lena colored the Starbucks page.

Austin told us he drives to Husky Deli sometimes with his Mom's friends.

Aliza told us she loves going to Great Harvest on walks for the yummy breadsticks!



Saige drew pictures of little boys on the Curious Kids page so they were able to pick out some toys too :)
