The Beetles approached finger painting with just a little bit of caution today. Probably mostly due to the fact that we are more often telling them to keep their hands out of messy things than inviting them to put them in. :)
Austin looked down at his painted hands and then back up to Carrie to see if it was okay.
With a nod and a smile from Carrie and some words of encouragement, the Beetles were soon diving right in to the process of finger painting.
After they tired of feeling the paint between their fingers and watching the colors meld together to form new colors, Carrie offered them a paint brush to expand their experience.
At this stage of development, art is all about the process and nothing about the end product. The toddlers today didn't even realize that they were "making" a painting, they just enjoyed exploring the sensory experience of paint.
